wiw vol 43 The Whale

85 minutes - G - 2011
Streaming Netflix

Storyline

The true story of a young killer whale, an orca nicknamed Luna, who makes friends with people after he gets separated from his family on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. As rambunctious and surprising as a visitor from another planet, Luna endears himself to humans with his determination to make contact, which leads to laughter, conflict and unexpected consequences.

This movie will have you laughing and cheering on the little whale. I know, had I lived there, I would have been out seeing and fighting for Luna every day. A beautiful documentary about a very special little whale that called humans his family for a few short years.

Are you ready for your mind to be blown? This was filmed in my hometown. Luna is like my pet... sort of. I mean, I touched him and we used to go down to the dock at night and lie down and just listen to him playing with all of the boats. ... Oh and I know like EVERYONE in that movie, except Ryan Renolds who narrated it.

So, is your mind blown?

hahha i already knew all this - you wrote about the movie a while ago on your blog and i couldn't wait for it to get on netflix! i wish i could have known luna. i'm just so upset about the whole ordeal. it still doesn't make sense to me why they didn't let that one guy try and take him back to his family. i HATE those people that were in charge and saying that others don't know whats best for him.. but somehow they did? they were complete assholes. i can only imagine had i lived there what i would have done about the situation hahah
